Stamps of Approval

S&H Green Stamps, and the memory of time spent painstakingly pasting them in the paper booklets after wetting the back of each stamp, generate a lot of nostalgia for people of a certain age. I remember both the time spent and the satisfaction of finally filling a booklet, which inevitably had gone from smooth to lumpy from all the saliva we used to ensure the stamps adhered.

After taking a five-year break from pitching and writing, it feels good to restart with this piece instead of a personal essay that required a lot of heavy emotional lifting.
